Following the reopening of the MSMEs Survival Fund Payroll Support Portal by the Federal Government, the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Kikelomo Longe, in a statement on Thursday, urged MSMEs to apply for the support through the fund’s website.
She noted that the Federal Government had decided to reopen applications for the payroll support to ensure states yet to fully utilise their quota do so and also to ensure eligible MSMEs who missed out on the initial application deadline got to benefit.
Longe called on eligible businesses not to delay in applying for the support as the application would close on February 2.
She added that the payroll support enabled the Federal Government support the payroll obligations of MSMEs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with the payment of between N30,000 and N50,000 to at least three employees and a maximum of 10 employees working with the benefitting MSME.
She said only Nigerian-owned businesses with a minimum of three employees and maximum of 50 employees registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission were eligible, adding that every applicant must have verifiable Bank Verification Number.
The commissioner further stated that MSMEs must upload all registration documents, bank statements showing payroll receipts to their employees for the last three months, employment register and Small and Medium Enterprises Development certification while applying online.
